I installed a new chimney liner for a water heater in Holiday City, OH. After securing the liner to ensure proper ventilation, I carefully relit the water heater and tested it for safe operation. I checked the pilot light and verified that the venting system was functioning correctly to prevent any backdraft. I also monitored the water heater's performance to ensure it was heating efficiently. Everything is working properly, and the system is now running safely and effectively with the new liner in place.
After inspecting the water heater, I found that the limit switch had tripped, which was preventing the unit from operating. I reset the switch and relit the water heater, ensuring it was running properly again. However, during the inspection, I also noted that the system lacks a chimney liner, which is necessary for proper venting. A chimney liner will need to be installed to ensure safe operation and prevent potential venting issues in the future. The water heater is now functioning, but further work is required.
